Back to Reality

Home sweet home!! So glad to be back home with my family, and a little less happy about going back to work (even though I'm anxious to see my customers). After enjoying a much needed vacation, consisting of shopping and expensive, amazing food, with longtime friends, I am BROKE! Some of our adventures....

Now this is what I call a New York apartment. It's such a better option compared to a hotel room. vrbo.com\

This is our view from the dining room window.

After many visits to the big city, this is my 1st carraige ride in NYC.

We found out, while at brunch at Tavern On the Green, that after 75 years of business, it will close in December. I'm so glad I got to experience it!

Us at the entrance of NOBU 57 (they didn't allow photos in the restaurant). Dinner was, hands down, the best food of the entire trip..... Not to mention one of the best dinners of any I've had in NYC......period!

Ahh... Manhattan how I've missed you!

Well.... in 24 hours I'll be NYC bound with some of my favorite gals, Shannon, Amanda, Leslie, and Kendall. We're staying until Sunday in a rented apartment. I want to soak it all in, since I don't know when I will return. I just love the big city, but also love to come home too.
I desperately need a vacation, but not desperately wanting to leave my baby and husband. I'm a little nervous about how much I'll miss them in the 4 days I'll be gone.
On our agenda is a dinner cruise on the Hudson for Thursday night, hoping to make it in to Regis and Kelly Friday morning, Meat Packing District for dinner at STK Friday night, and NOBU for dinner Saturday night. I hope to get lots of relaxation, shopping, and good food in before I return home on Sunday!

First Things First

Ok.... so this is my first ever entry to my first ever blog (talk about rookie nerves). I, like so many others, want to savor every moment of this wonderful journey through life. This is the life I dreamt of as a child. Every prayer heard. All the blessings I could have asked for, granted. The love I felt growing up, is now the love I give to my precious family, and most importantly, my beautiful baby Hayden.

I thank God everyday for all the blessings he has given me and my family.

So this is my attempt at documenting as many moments as possible. This is my attempt to keep a log, a journal, for me and my family. I also want to share as much as I can with my family that lives out of town. I have been inspired by so many other blogs. I love reading posts, looking at pictures, trying new recipes, getting new ideas for the home, etc....

To my sweet Hayden,

Some of the things this blog has missed up to date:

Born in March 2008

1st rolled over at 3 months

1st time sitting up alone at 6 months

1st word was "tickle"

crawled at 9 months

had tubes in ears 13 months

walked at 15 months

For your 1st birthday, we were so blessed to have many family and friends join us at home for a wonderful celebration.

Some of the things you're doing now at 18 months:

you love the beach, pool, or anything with water; running everywhere; touching everything; singing your ABC's and "God Our Father"; watching Blues Clues and Noggin; eating crackers and grapes; going to Beth's; crying if anyone comes in a door or leaves; saying "cmon Chase"; calling grandma "Nana"; coloring on anything; still loves naps; you have 6 teeth; mock everything I do (especially talking on a cell phone); love playing with puzzles; love being outside....... it's impossible to list all the cute things you're doing, but these are some of the highlights.

Hayden, you are the best thing that ever happened to me. I will always love you with every inch of my heart!

Wow! How was that for my first post?
